ATTRACTIONS

Town of Winter Park - 2 miles Town of Fraser - 6 miles Pole Creek Golf Club - 10 miles SolVista Golf and Ski Ranch - 15 miles Berthoud Pass Ski Area - 17 miles Continental Divide - 17 miles Town of Granby - 20 miles Rocky Mountain National Park - 23 miles Denver International Airport (DEN): Approximate driving time is 2 hours and distance is 93 miles. Driving directions from Denver International Airport: Exit the airport on Pena Blvd and continue south for about 10 miles. Take Exit 1A / I-70W, and proceed west on I-70 for about 52 miles. Take Exit 232 / US-40W / Empire / Granby. After exiting, continue straight onto US-40 for about 25 miles, including over Berthoud Pass. Once in Winter Park, turn left at the first traffic light and follow the service road one-half mile to resort. Check-in is located in the Riverside building. An airport shuttle service and rental cars are the most popular ways of getting from the airport to the resort. One-way shuttle fares are more than $36, and reservations are required. Fee subject to change without notice. Car rentals are available online. Winter driving conditions can be hazardous, making the shuttle preferable for some guests. Also, Amtrak stops at Fraser, about six miles from the resort, where guests can summon the resort shuttle for a complimentary pick-up. From Union Station in downtown Denver, the Ski Train offers roundtrip service (weekends only) to the base of Winter Park ski area for more than $36. Fee subject to change without notice. A roundtrip ticket is valid only for use on a single day, so overnight stays require the purchase of an additional roundtrip ticket. Getting around: Subject to availability, the resort courtesy shuttle transports guests upon request anywhere in Winter Park and as far as Fraser. The Lift is a free public transit shuttle that runs between most resort properties in the base area and Winter Park. Taxis are also available. Guests who plan local travel beyond Winter Park will need to rent a car.

AMENITIES & SERVICES
What to expect: The lodge consists of two modern mountain houses—the seven-story Slopeside and eight-story Riverside—located 110 feet from the Zephyr Express chairlift and adjacent to the resort's Village Plaza. Guests check in at the Riverside building and relax in the lobby, with its stone fireplace, plaid sofas and matching armchairs, and fieldstone floors. The easy access to slopes, ski school, and children's center is especially attractive to families. Amenity highlights: Winter sports enthusiasts appreciate the heated underground parking, private gear storage, and proximity to the plaza's ski rental and repair facilities. Four outdoor spas, a fitness center, tavern, plaza shops, and a complimentary shuttle to Winter Park, 2 miles away, offer more diversions. Insider tip: The resort Children's Center, located outside the lodge in the Village Plaza, offers a rental shop that specializes in children's gear and a kitchen for preparing lunches and snacks. Winter offerings include non-ski child care for kids ages 2 months to 5 years, and ski programs for children ages 3 to 14. In summer, Kids Alpine Adventure Zone features supervised activities for kids ages 7 to 15.

RECREATION
The lodge is located at the base of Winter Park Resort's Zephyr Express chairlift. Besides skiing, winter activities include snowboarding, Snowcat tours, horse-drawn sleigh rides, snow tubing, dogsledding, and hot-air balloon rides. The resort base area is connected to the towns of Winter Park and Fraser by the Fraser River Trail, a 5-mile multiuse trail that is wide, flat, and paved—ideal for children and novice bicyclists, inline skaters, and people still acclimating to the altitude. Nearby golf courses include Pole Creek Golf Club, 10 miles north of Winter Park, and SolVista Golf and Ski Ranch, 15 miles north of Winter Park. An alpine slide, climbing wall, human maze, and miniature golf course offer more summer fun. The recreational activities listed below are available either on-site or near the hotel; fees may apply.
